DART and MAX Range
Introduction
DART Range and MAX Range are the programs where you calibrate the system, configure training weapons, and run practice sessions and courses. DART and MAX Studio are optional software packages used to create drills. courses, and scenarios that can be run in Range.
The DART and MAX Range Reference Guide describes all of the controls and options of the program.
DART Tutorials provide step-by-step examples of using DART Range.
You can find quick start information for setting up the hardware that came with your DART system here.
Before using Range, the system must be calibrated. This is a quick process that aligns the system camera with the projected image so shots can be accurately tracked. You can learn more about calibration here.
Practice Sessions and Courses
There will be times when you want to run a quick practice session without the rules and requirements of a full course. The Practice section of Range allows users to quickly load target(s) for one or more shooters and begin shooting with minimal effort.
Courses are generally more complex than practice sessions since they often involve specific instructions, requirements, and multiple stages.
You can think of courses like shooting a qualification course with multiple stages compared to a practice session which is more like selecting a target and simply firing shots.
