Studio Flat Target Editor
The Flat Target Editor is used to create new flat targets or modify existing ones.
In DART, a flat target is made up of front and rear images that the shooter sees, and a third corresponding zone image. A zone image can use up to 15 pre-determined colors. Each colored zone can be assigned a unique score value and sound and can be used to perform certain behavior checks. For example, you can test to see if a target is shot in the center bullseye or some other specific area.
Creating zone images requires a 3rd party paint program like Photoshop. Once the images are created, the Flat Target Editor is used to combine them together, along with scoring and size information, to create a final target usable by DART.
You can also use the Flat Target Editor to change the size, scoring, and sounds of existing Flat Targets.
Open Image
Opens a dialog to load a bitmap image. Loading a bitmap image will automatically load the corresponding zone and back-facing images. If a target image was named B21E.png, the corresponding zone image must be named B21Ez.png and the back-facing image must be named B21Eb.png.
Measurement
Sets the unit of measurement to be used by Target Size. Options are Inches, Feet, Yards, Centimeters, and Meters.
Target Size
The Target Size slider proportionately scales the target in inches. The slider controls the width of the target. The height is proportionately scaled as the slider changes.
Zone Selection
A multi-select option that selects one of fifteen zone colors. If a zone color is not being used by the selected target, the swatch is grayed out.
When the Flat Target Editor is open, a floating window showing the corresponding zone map of the selected target appears on the screen.
Zone Points
The number of points awarded (or deducted) for hitting a specific zone. Point values can be positive or negative. For example, you may earn 10 points for hitting a target holding a gun but -10 points for hitting an unarmed target holding up his hands.
Zone Audio
Opens a dialog to load a sound file that will be played each time the selected zone is hit.
Save Target
Opens a dialog to save all target information as a DART compatible target file.
